Customer guide to your financial services appointment via video call.

We now offer meetings via video call using a system called Circuit.

Here are our tips for a successful meeting

  • We recommend the use of laptops wherever possible to ensure you get the best user experience.
  • As with all mediums of communication, consider the information you will be talking about - how will you ensure this remains confidential? When you are conducting the video call make sure you consider how your meeting space can remain private.
  • Consider how you can keep background noise to a minimum. If other people are around consider how you can avoid them gate-crashing your call!
  • Set up your camera so you have eye contact with your fellow attendees.
  • Does the lighting in the room you are in enhance or detract the call? Try different things such as facing a window, closing curtains or moving free standing lights.
  • What can other people see in the background? Ideally the background should be relatively neutral and not distracting.
  • Take a few minutes at the start of the call to ensure everyone on the call can see and hear each other.
  • Take your time! There is often a slight delay, either due to technology or the fact it is harder to pick up on non-verbal signals. Take things slower than you normally would. For example, pause once someone else has finished speaking to ensure that they have finished talking.
