Find out how much Stamp Duty you may pay for your new property.
What is Stamp Duty?
Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) is a type of tax applied when purchasing property or land in the United Kingdom and is payable by the buyer. Knowing your stamp duty can be a useful tool when planning ahead financially - it helps you to better manage and understand the cost of purchasing property. By keeping on top of this information, budgeting for big purchases becomes much simpler!
What do I need to know?
From 23rd September 2022, there is no stamp duty charged for properties under £250,000. The amount of stamp duty payable is dependent on the total value of the property. Different rates will apply if you are a first-time buyer or will own more than one property.
First-time buyers will only pay SDLT on homes over £425,000. First-time buyers' relief is now available on properties up to £625,000.
YOUR PROPERTY MAY BE REPOSSESSED IF YOU DO NOT KEEP UP REPAYMENTS ON YOUR MORTGAGE.
Your initial mortgage appointment is without obligation. We normally charge a fee for our services; however, it is payable only on the submission of your mortgage application. The fee will depend on your circumstances but our standard fee is £549. Complex cases usually attract a higher fee. We will discuss and agree the fee with you prior to submitting any mortgage application.
